Logo About Me

Brain Storming of Ideas

Logo Idea 1
Final Logo Design

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo.

I thought that creating my logo was fun.  I had two different ideas and I shared both of them.  I used pencil and colored pencils, but now I wish I would have used paints so that the colors would have been brighter.  I think the colored pencils dulled the colors in the photograph.

2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation.

With my creative thinking skills I tried to brainstorm about what makes me who I am.  The first design I went with my identity as a mother and used that work to express other things about myself all inside of a heart.  But then as I took more time and thought about it, I came up with a different direction.  This one was more simplistic but has a deeper meaning.  It is meant to show myself and my life moving forward and accomplishing great things.

3. What was the most important discovery you made in the creation of your logo?

I think the most important discovery I made was that firstly it it harder to make a logo about yourself than for a product.  The second thing was that the more I thought about it the more ideas I had and that my entire idea changed in a much different direction.

4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos, powerpoint, and reading material  for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?

I thought that the videos were very interesting.  There is a lot of work and planning and redesigning that goes into creating a logo or changing a brand.  I liked the video on making the squeeze jars, that they kept working til they got it as close to perfect as possible.  I took an advertising class in the past and find all of that fascinating.  Graphic designers have a tough job.  They not only have to brainstorm different ideas, but they ultimately have to please their customer.  Graphic design is not as easy as it may appear and takes a great amount of patience to get everything just right.
